 A healthy and non-traditional turkey recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 1 gram of ground cumin
  • 1 gram of black pepper
  • 2 pinches of salt (separately)
  • 400 grams of minced turkey meat
  • 3 grams of chopped fresh coriander
  • 10 ml of canola oil
  • 4 loaves of whole wheat pita bread
  • 100 grams of shredded red lettuce leaves
  • 60 ml of low-fat plain yogurt

 

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the tomatoes with half the cumin, half the black pepper and a pinch of salt, then set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the turkey meat with the cilantro, remaining cumin, salt, and black pepper. Then it is formed into 12 meatballs.
  3. Heat canola oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the meatballs in the pan until they turn brown.
  4. For each pita bread: place 4 meatballs with 25g of lettuce, 30g of tomato mixture and 15g of yogurt.
