One of the chicken recipes rich in different flavors and delicious is the recipe for chicken tagine with lemon. Adding various herbs and spices along with lemon to the recipe reduces the use of salt; Which makes it a suitable meal for patients with high blood pressure.
Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- saffron
- 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of green anise
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- Juice of 1 small lemon
- 4 chicken thighs
- olive oil
- 1/2 liter of chicken broth
- 3 pieces of carrots
- 2 pieces of lemon pickle
- A sprig of fresh coriander
Instructions
- Dissolve the spices and herbs (except coriander) with a little water to form a thick sauce.
- Spread the chicken with the sauce and leave it for an hour.
- Brown the chicken in a hot tagine, add hot chicken broth, and simmer over low heat for an hour.
- In another pot, carrots and zucchini, pre-cut into large slices, are cooked for 15 minutes.
- Add the vegetables and the sliced lemon to the chicken quarters, and leave to simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, uncovered.
- Add chopped fresh coriander at the end of cooking.
