Have you ever tried adding cherry sauce to your steak? Here's a delicious and unconventional recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces of tender beef steak (120 grams each).
  • 1 gram of black pepper, divided in half.
  • 1 pinch of salt.
  • 20 grams of mushrooms, sliced.
  • Half an onion cut into thin slices.
  • 4 grams of all-purpose flour.
  • 5 grams of fresh thyme leaves, chopped.
  • 60 ml of cherry sauce.
  • 60 ml of low-sodium beef broth.
  • 15 ml of low-fat sour cream.
  •  steps

Instructions:

  1. Sprinkle 0.5g of black pepper and a pinch of salt over the steaks in a hot non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the steak steaks on both sides until browned, about 1-2 minutes on each side over medium heat. Transfer the steak strips to a plate and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
  2. Place the mushrooms in the skillet with the remaining onions and peppers and stir-fry until the mushrooms are tender, golden brown and releasing their juices, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Then sprinkle with flour and cook again for 1 minute.
  4. Add thyme, cherry sauce, and broth. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring until it thickens to coat the back of a spoon without slipping, about 3 minutes.
  5. Then it is removed from the fire, and stirred with sour cream. Return steak strips (and juices) to pot and cover with sauce. Then the steak is served with the sauce.

The nutritionist advice

The bouillon cubes are already salted, so don't add salt, or you can choose low-sodium bouillon cubes. It is important to reduce the amount of salt a person consumes daily, especially in the case of high blood pressure.
